Maybe your timing belt slipped a tooth. Might want to take a peek at it.

Got 70 MPG?

Maybe you should report back on if siad suggestion from each member who takes the time out of their day to help you worked or not instead of going "bump, bump"

Just because you are getting free technical advise on how to fix your broken car doesn't mean you can convieniently disregard posts from people on here trying to help you.

NOW, with that out of the way: the mechanic probably pulled the transmission when they did this. That would be the easiest way of going about this job. If that is the case, they probably jerked loose a ground or maybe even messed up a connector for one of your sensors. Loosen your grounds and retighten everything back up. You may want to go as far as unpluging your electrical connections and putting di-electric grease on them to ensure a good contact.

You had the clutch replaced... did they remove the engine or just the transmission, I wonder.

I had a little needle shake and a rough idle and I replaced my O2 sensor ('91 has one front sensor). The idle smoothed out the the needle shake went away. O2 sensor check: http://geometroforum.com/topic/3758041/1/?x=25

However, looking at the turning off issue, I'd check your timing. http://geometroforum.com/topic/1145487/1/
