Leave your A/C on. Install a remote starter. 3 minutes before you head outside, remote start your car.

Even better...remove the belt from the crankshaft pulley, install a couple hp electric motor, rig up a remote system and run the A/C w/o using the engine. Start the a/c about 5-10 mins before getting in the car...should be cooling down nicely by then!

A good ol fashion shade tree is best, but currently I am out of shade trees at my house and most parking lots do not have shade trees either.

Depends on the tree. Some trees will leave their mark..... While other tree's inhabitants leave their mark. :-/

I am the one on the left.

This year we had a wet spring. The shade tree dripped syrup all until Geopalooza. Then the dang birdies living in the trees like to mark their territory. Have to wash the crap off all the time, but the shade is worth it.

My wife's favorite way to keep the car cooler (she grew up in the desert) is leave the windows cracked open about an inch. And park under a shade tree whenever possible.

BTW, if there are no shade trees, a Ford Excursion between your Geo and the sun works nearly as well :D

Oh, about running the A/C with an electric motor...you'll probably want a 100 amp alternator, and maybe one of those turbo engines from a Suzuki Swift...and a BIG, preferably deep cycle battery...
