Didn't expect this to happen today - allergic reaction

Wife's friend comes over to help out today as my wife is still recovering from broken wrists. She was going to give my wife a pedicure.
Within a half an hour of her coming over I was rushing the friend to ER as she was having an allergic reaction to antibiotics she just started an hour earlier.
Itching all over, blotchy-ness, throat getting tighter, very anxious, redness progressing from the face downward.

Benadryl, epinephrine, some kind of steroid injections and 2 hours later she was looking normal but still amped up.

Prior to today she has never had an allergic reaction to anything.

Took her back to our house so we could monitor her, watched a movie.

Made for an exciting day.

How does that black cloud over your head look? Is it getting bigger? Maybe this is God's way of telling you to GET OF OF CALIFORNIA. Or possibly, Charlie Brown wants to set up shop on your door step.

Hope everyone gets better soon, Jellybean.

@Dayle1960 - yeah, the getting out of CA part, been thinking about it for years now. Have a good job with good pay now that's keeping me here but wondering if it will be worth it in the end.

The allergic reaction was weird - first time I've experienced someone having it. Didn't know how fast it was going to progress and become life threatening so off I shuttled her. In the news this past week was a guy that died from a peanut he ate in a salad.

It's amazing how life threatening it can be, yet how fast it can be treated and reversed at a hospital.

This is how misunderstandings and just plain bad information gets disseminated on the 'net.
It was not just one peanut in the salad. That alone is not enough to kill a person with a peanut allergy.
One thing that does not make sense here is that he ate the salad. A person with a nut allergy is not going to be so stupid as to eat something that can make him really ill or cause his death. He would have seen the nuts or tasted them and there would not have been a problem.
Something is fishy with the cause of his death.
By the way, this is the guy that is a KEY WITNESS in the Dodgers Beating case.

CB, I get the feeling that every girl you meet is......oh, never mind!! :P :P

And I too feel that peanut-in-the-salad death was a bit suspicious. You live all your life carefully avoiding those things which can kill you, then mysteriously after you're called to be the chief witness in a beating case you eat enough to kill you???

DUH!!!
