Your debit card has a block on it?; New Phishing scam

Just an FYI, there is a new round of phishing scams going on by phone. The call is from a long distance number, either Miami, Orlando or Canada and it says there is a block or fraud on your card, press 1 to continue. Then it asks for your card number and pin code.

Your real bank should show up on the caller id and they should ask for a companion question that is account related. This is why when you call in you may enter your social security number in the phone system, then the operator asks for your last 4, a check that was written or your blood type. Those who ask for info that a merchant needs are just scammers.

If any doubt, hang up and call the number on your card, bank statement or visit a local bank office.

Just an fyi.
