Well im feeling realy shitty this morning, i cant sleep cuz i have alot on my mind. i was supposed to help a good friend of mine move more stuff out of his house since the bank reposessed it. Well he isnt in the greatest of health, and he couldnt be out in the heat very long so we waited for it to cool down enough to pack, since theres no electric out there. Bank called today and said we cant get the rest of his things, since our time is up. Well Theres still thousands of dollars worth of shop equipment, personal items and misc stuff in teh garage we couldnt get out because it was just too hot out. Why cant bankers actually have a heart and let people that arent in good health a second chance, as in a little longer to get their belongings out. But hell no, all they want is their money. So now i cant sleep because im having thoughts of why things like this have to happen to good people. i feel worse about it cuz i put it off since i wanted to be lazy instead of help move. What kind of a friend am i? Here i am considering this guy a friend, he trusts me enough that hes still letting me borrow his car, and yet here i am, i just let him lose all of his belongings and stood by and did nothing to help.... What the hell is wrong with me.. ? Im thinking of driving over there right now and loading up as much stuff in the back of the car as i can, to get some mroe stuff out of the garage, before daylight since the bank will be all over the place like stink on shit. If they already dont have the driveway blocked off to prevent it. Whats yalls thoughts about things like Bank Repos and whatnot. |

The sooner you get over there the better. Call all your friends and family that are local and see if they can't come over and help get his stuff. The more people you have helping the better. |

while i was there packing up the stuff, the banker showed up with an evaluator, needless to say they made me unload all the stuff i had packed up, they did let me take out a couple boxes, and were nice enough to put padlocks on all the doors, so come monday now i have to go to t he bank and get the key to unlock the garage, to get the scrap out of there, since they want that out..... Just not the stuff worth value.... Little do they know taht all the scrap coffee pots in there, are all stainless steel, and that is bringing 75 cents a pound. So about 2000 lbs worth of coffee pots, at 75 cents per pound, wonder what thats going to bring..... Btw theres like 400 coffee makers left in there Hence why they dont want them there. |

I do not think they can keep his personal property without a court order. I would even consider calling the local sheriff or something. |

yea i dont get it. the bank can only repossess the house. not the items inside. they never possessed that in the first place. i assume that stuff wasnt on the mortgage. i would have kept loading stuff until they called the cops. im guessing the banker and evaluator guys didnt have guns. sounds fishy to me. |

It'd probably end up with me in jail, but I'd go over there with a trailer and a sledgehammer. A trailer to get the items, a hammer to get past any locks. |

Not worth it tbh, i guess the deal they worked out is the remaining items are going to auction and i guess the bank is going to clear his bank note. So i guess it works taht way. I still got to go back monday after getting a key and start loading up coffee makers, I just pulled 3 apart stripped of the metal and neatly piled. took 2 hours :/ |

This sounds like when my parents got divorced, they were arguing over worthless stuff. Old TVs, nasty sofas, old mattresses, etc. If you have money in "scrap" you don't have money. There's no real loss in this situation, in my opinion. Take notes people, don't stockpile shit in your house, and make the payments on your house.

Not a bank story but: I took a laptop out on hire purchase once. Darned battery died in less than a year (my fault ... I didnt unplug the charger much), the cable from the adapter broke and I had to twist them together, and the SOBs wouldnt stop calling me ... so I just took it back and did a voluntary return. The look of dismay on the reps face when she saw the damage was priceless!! ![]() Serves them right for harassing me unecessarily over some broke sh*t!! |
