Good evening,

Someone in the local area to me has an advertisement for a metro that was supposedly abandoned on her property a couple of years ago by someone.....a friend of a friend or a friend of family is what she says....She is advertising the car for a really good price but she has no keys and no title since it was abandoned. Part of me wants to jump on it; but then parts of me are kind of paranoid that buying this car could somehow haunt me with problems being that it's not really her car. So Ladies and Gentlemen what are your thoughts? :popcorn

Thanks,
Eric

all depends how much they are wanting, just use it for parts since titles are a royal pain in the ass to get if you dont have them, paperwork is a biotch

Explain to her there is not much demand for abandoned cars without titles and keys and tell her if she will give you a hundred bucks you will remove it from her property.

A lot of junkyards won't even take it without a title. You could always get a mechanic to hold it and get a title for you.

Perfect parts car ... you dont need the stress of chasing a new title. Could even be stolen or involved in a crime or some crap for all you know :die

Use that to drive the price down

Almost all states have a way to title abandoned cars, so I would not be real quick to jump on the parts train with it. Find out what laws are in your state if the car actually looks worth it.

I agree with the others, a car with no title and no keys is intrinsically worth less than one that is properly sold though.
