Tested the car today found the VSV is bad (vacuum switch valve) No solid click when hooked to a battery and pulling vacuum on the bottom hose. I bypassed the valve....routing the vacuum hose off the back of the EFI direct to the vacuum cannister. Car runs OK....doesn't lope up and down, even using the fan or brakes ![]() edit: it still does ![]() Either looking to buy one or Is there a better option? picture from team swift http://www.teamswift.net/gallery/image.php?album_id=940&image_id=20473&sid=073901ba671737e544d64e88473910e8 Edited by Jittney, Oct 30 2012, 07:27 PM.

If you do....we'll buy it. They are buggers to get out of the holder...if it's still in there. And...if you get it out...the insides fall out the bottom....as the holder keeps it together. |

I spoke too soon on the idle loping It loped when he used the lights or fan or brakes. But... Installed the master cylinder from the spare sprint...and now the lope is gone. Just like many other cars on this forum, a neglected car takes time to restore. Edited by Jittney, Dec 30 2012, 01:23 PM.

Your statement "Just like many other cars on this forum, a neglected car takes time to restore. " really hits home with me. It took a good long while before I could count on my Metro and it seemed I had a few problems that were a little more out of the ordinary here like the TPS and such. Anyway, I am glad the turbo Sprint is coming along. I am sure that is a blast to drive. Conor |
