87 Chevy Sprint Turbo; what a blast

Tested the car today
found the VSV is bad (vacuum switch valve)
No solid click when hooked to a battery and pulling vacuum on the bottom hose.
I bypassed the valve....routing the vacuum hose off the back of the EFI direct to the vacuum cannister.
Car runs OK....doesn't lope up and down, even using the fan or brakes :)
edit: it still does :(
Either looking to buy one
or
Is there a better option?

Thanks for the heads up....long ways from Alaska :(
I have a note on teamswift for the same part.
if I can't get the replacement part, I'll try a manual switch.

If you do....we'll buy it.
They are buggers to get out of the holder...if it's still in there.
And...if you get it out...the insides fall out the bottom....as the holder keeps it together.

about that 87 sprint he had towed home a few days ago......
it's donating good body parts to the ones on the turbo that were rusty and/or broken
last picture is of the much wanted vsv :)

edit: the switching valves did not match
Changed the necessary parts and installed it in the turbo sprint.
No more loping idle :)

I spoke too soon on the idle loping :smackface
It loped when he used the lights or fan or brakes.
But...
Installed the master cylinder from the spare sprint...and now the lope is gone.
Just like many other cars on this forum, a neglected car takes time to restore.

Your statement "Just like many other cars on this forum, a neglected car takes time to restore. " really hits home with me. It took a good long while before I could count on my Metro and it seemed I had a few problems that were a little more out of the ordinary here like the TPS and such.

Anyway, I am glad the turbo Sprint is coming along. I am sure that is a blast to drive.
