No name for the Little Beastie yet.
Sounds like a name to me.

BTW, I'm jealous also.

Got 70 MPG?

Is it just me, or does the frame horns on those look like they were designed A LOT better than Geos, Suzukis, and Chevy metro/swifts were?

OK...crankshaft is fine.
Tried firing her up.....great crank....no start.
Full fuel tank....probably bad gas, but no fuel pump.
Sigh.....where is the familiar hummmmm of the fuel pump when turning the key?
Not to be heard.
Pull the incoming fuel line off the fuel rail (ah...this has a rail with 3 fuel injectors)
Hose is dry as a bone.
Maybe it's plugged?
Blow on it....no go.
Remove the gas cap....blow....hear the movement.....bubbles....and gas pours out the top of the filler neck.
No block.
Find the DVOM.....lift up the back seat....unplug the pink and black wires.....no luck.
Double check same procedure on my 94....and getting readings.
Look for the fuel pump relay, fuse, whatever....on the Sprint....can't find it.
Test, do not guess (it echoes in my brain).
But I cannot figure out what else to test.
I do have a spare fuel pump in the 93 tank, in case the Sprint's fuel pump is bad.
I will also have to figure out how to drain the Sprint's completely full tank, if I have to drop the tank.
Also read Turbo 101 on the wild chance that it was turbo related.
Nah.
So, anyone want to jump in on this?

Son of a Gun! Your fuel relay is located at your right front suspension strut.

Turbo3 and Twincam Tweaker

the fuel pump on that turbo3 is twice the size of the normally aspirated car's fuel pump. i use the same fuel pump as a gt's twincam on my mk2 turbo3. don't swap the wrong fuel pump to the turbo sprint. it will starve the fueling and melt the pistons.

the fuel pump relay is under the hood on the fuse/ relay rack on the left side. you'll see the pink wire on the bottom side and i think that the relay is marked f/i.

the more precise fueling afforded by the 3 injectors in the multiport arrangement give the engine the benefit of more power while increasing economy. if you keep you foot off the go button and stay out of boost as much as you can, you'll get amazing numbers. i could get 50 mpg using slight throttle angles and low boost from the stock mk2 turbo3 in my vert.

you got a super deal.

Heres a pic that was on teamswift. I circled where your fuel relay should be in yellow.

Yeah...thanks.
I didn't see it earlier, but as soon as EGD said the front strut, I went and tested it.
So...the relay tested OK.
Back to the clip under the back seat....and intermittent reading.
Back to the relay....and not testing.
hmmmm
OK....turn key on....and wait a few seconds.....hear a second click....and now reading 12v at relay.
Try to start it....reading drops right off.
When I tested my working fuel pump on my 94, key off = 0. Key on = 12v Car started = 24v.
So....we wondered if we had a bad ground.
Found and cleaned a number of them under the hood.
No luck.
Will also say that when sitting in the driver's seat and watching the display, on occasions, it tries to fire (but no fuel) and we can see the green colored TURBO light display by the tach.
So, I am not sure if the relay is bad, intermittent or it's a ground issue.
We're calling it a day for working on it, but I am open to feedback.
Thanks. :)

Remembered to direct wire it from the big battery direct to the wire under the seat.
In the 94, with key off, a connection from battery Positive to Tpin at connection = hearing the fuel pump turn on.
On the Sprint = no luck.
Not sure if a bad ground on the fuel pump for the Sprint could do this.
Bad fuel pump ground or bad fuel pump....
Either way, it requires dropping the tank.

Jittney, you have hit El Dorado, congratulations on such a find :thumb
I have no doubts you will resolve this as well. What happens when you make a complete circuit to the fuel pump ( your already running the pos. to it, run a neg and ground it, does the fp now kick?) If not, you most likely can stop looking for a bad ground and start looking at the pump itself.

Hello all. For those of you who don't know me I am jittneys son and I have the Chevy Sprint turbo.
We just tried hooking up the pos and neg directly to the fuel pump line but still nothing. Looking like dropping the tank is the only option right now.
