Thanks BR and NWGEO for the helpful input. I can see BR, from other threads, that you are well aware of the reasoning for removing 3 of the seals, that being condensation buildup, and you stated elsewhere the grease seemed very minimal but I guess you just decided to experiment also. It is curious as to why Koyo does it that way now. Illuminating tho, your description of what you believe was the original Geo method and that it lasted so long without problems. Thinking to be safe I should do that. But, Nwgeo getting 40k! Very cool and gives one pause. Sure is easier/quicker. Have noticed that some who are running the stock 4 seal koyo setup are still packing extra grease in middle around the spacer but leaving original grease in bearing but I wonder if that creates a compatability issue. Like is it okay to mix greases? Any idea? Ran into some problems removing bearings tonight and posted on the tires/wheels bearings forum if you care to comment I'd appreciate it. It's a new twist it seems, and you'll get a chance to laugh at me. Cheers Edited by larcal, Feb 17 2014, 03:59 AM.

Arugh, off the road and then a deer hit. Not too bad a deer hit. I got to post the pic of a fellow geo owner where the deer tried to jump over and hit the windshield and roof--- not good. |

I gave the keys to my wife for the Magnum Metro and told her to drive it to work tomorrow I loaded the guppy mouth bumper and headlamp conversion kits in her car and will stay after work to fix it up. The airbags did not deploy and there was no sheet metal damage Her car will look like it did when the original owner had it with the correct headlamps and bumper for a 96 instead of the 01 Swift front end she had from the previous deer incident before we bought the car. Mr's Mullet hit a deer about a year ago and cracked the rf lower side of her bumper, but it's officially toast now. |

But the real question is...............did you save the deer meat? It's been pre-tenderized so it should make a nice stew or steaks. Yummmmmmy. Sorry to hear about your woes, Boss. But just think, the worm will turn in a short while and you will be in tall cotton. Hang in there and don't get discouraged. Life happens, so in the mean time, chalk this up as a new adventure which will make for some interesting stories in the future. |
