Well, something is not right. This car has no balls. It has to downshift 2 gears when hitting a hill and has low power in higher gears. I checked the timing marks 3 times and it is correct. I thought the cat was plugged, but it seems to flow nice.

When I tromp it down it actually decreases in speed in 4th or 5th gear. I am too damn tired to piss with it anymore tonight :smackface

This never happens on a customer's car, just my shit.

I realize how frustrating this can be. An entire weekend working on it and still something wrong. Any check engine light? How's the fuel filter? Good luck getting it running right soon. You still have to get Ecomudder running.

It quite often happens that way. I am glad and frustrated at the same time when it does. One would think that as much attention paid on a customers job would equate to ones own. Maybe we just relax too much when we do our own. Not in the amount of time spent but thinking it just comes naturally. I just don't really know sometimes but don't feel alone Johnny.

Any check engine light? - No codes. Already scanned it.
How's the fuel filter? - New last year.
You still have to get Ecomudder running. :smackface

You have the crank gear off? Just curious if you checked the keyway. Any chance of pinching a fuel line? You have done so much I am sure it is a little something you overlooked.

Don't know exactly what was going on, but I dumped in a bottle of Lucas fuel injector cleaner and it now runs good. I assume the injector was clogged? Regardless, carr runs great except for a small "tick" noise that I have not verified yet :hmm

Glad it wasn't anything major. You have been through so much in a short time. Got any hair left? Maybe a slightly stuck lifter?

New fuel filter LAST year? JM, I know you live belt in the rust, and you stated that it might have been a clogged injector, so don't you think that a piece of rust could have fallen off the fuel filter and got lodged on/in the injector.

In the infamous words of Webb, test, don't guess.

Take the time to pull a hose off the fuel filter and catch a sample of the fuel coming out of the filter to see if it is contaminated.

Good luck, boss.

This engine makes a "knock" that is audible at idle when first started cold. The knock is very loud when driving cold. When warmed up, the noise is gone at idle but heard on accel.

I re-used the head gasket once already and don't plan on re-using it again. Once I get a new gasket, I am yanking the head off and dropping the pan and pulling pistons.

Wonder if the rod bearings are going out? Tear it down and Mike the journals. Bet one is a little on the light side.

Keep us posted.
