Are you running 3.8 quarts of 5w-30? Over filling can push oil into the air cleaner and you may no see the puff. High milers can have worn or stuck oil control rings and still have reasonable compression. If you actually have an XFI then you only have two rings to begin with one oil control and one compression. Compression rings seal towards the top to keep the compression in and oil can go right past when the piston goes down.

Got 70 MPG?

That much oil in that short of time could be front or rear main seal or cam seal. Is your passenger side frame horn oily?

Oil leaks can cause catastrophic failures like this. At least the frame horns won't rust. :D

No there is no oil visible any where. The engine is dry, under the car is dry also and yes i changed the pcv no oil in air cleaner, no blow by, the car runs great, water temp is normal, i changed oil and put in 3,8 quarts, theres no oil in the radiator , this thing has me baffled, the oil has to be going some where but where is the question lol

Sir Metrologist

Are you sure you put enough oil in it when you changed it? Kinda sounds like you forgot to top it off. :smackface
How many times have you had to pour in a whole quart after 200 miles? If it was just the one time, probably just a fluke. Just keep an eye on it. ^o)

Someone must be draining it out when you're not around then...

Reminds me of an old Movie, Pete and Tilly I think, Carol Burrnett and Walter Matheau I think... the dad and the kid were ADDING gasoline to the neighbor's car, an older guy who watched his FE and liked to brag about the unbelievable number he was getting. They added for fuel weeks, maybe months. Then, they started siphoning, taking fuel away... the guy went bananas.

We used to do that to a VW owner in high school, we thought it was funny probably drove that teacher nuts. That would drive me crazy now I have to admit. My car is so much fun to drive that the 46 mpg that it is getting is ok.
