Have this problem that starts at 58 to 65 mph in 5th. It feels like the engine does want to pull like it should and shakes, not real bad, sort of like it struggles when there is a load on it. Thought it was a wheel balance problem and that checked out OK. The not so funny part about it is that it happens sometimes and sometimes it does not! I've noticed a small lag in the low rpm's when I take off then it does alright. This one has me going so any help will be much appreciated. :-/ Thanks, ahead of time

When is the last time you did a tune up? Checked your spark plug gap?

Good bye

I had a bad wire make my car cough starting out and miss under tip-in at speed. The car ran fine at wide open throttle for a long time before it bad enough to miss all the time.

Start thinking about a catalytic converter that is plugging up.

Replaced plugs and wires when I did an engine and trans swap. Wires are Taylor Pros solid wire. They don't interfere with the radio, so far. I should have said that the car is a '99 1.0. 5 speed. and the swap was done about 7000 miles ago. One thing I read about in this site was NOT to put a pan gasket on this year of engine!! TOO late I did and it might be the reason its acting this way. Any ideas on this. One other thing as far as cam timing marks. There is two on the cam gear. One is like a dash mark and the other is a small dimple that are 180 degrees apart. Which is the right one? Tanx again.

Update: :smackface Now the it thing is dropping everything at low R's. That is when it goes above idle it dies for a second then it starts to run again. :evillol This only happens once in awhile ! :shit :shit :shit !! If anyone has had this trouble before I sure could use your advice and thanks for the answer on the cam gear.
