First let me take the time to say Hello. I have been reading your forum for about two years now and have found it to be a treasure trove of information. I am on my second Metro now and this one is giving me much more of a fit than my first one did. My first one was a 95 LSI 4 cyl 5 spd. This one is a 96 LSI 3 cyl 5 spd. It had a burnt #3 intake valve (imagine that) when I got it. I replaced the head with a rebuilt one changed all the fluids, did a full tune up on it and replaced the ERG valve. I am now throwing a 335 code and it has a slight vibration. I checked all the spark plug wires and they are tight.
I also am only getting 32 mpg right now. Hell I got 40 in the 95... :banghead I have been following some MPG threads and am buying parts to help this out. K&N air filter and new exhaust is on the way.
As for now I'm worried about this code..... :(

Did you put a oil pan gasket on it?

No, but I did replace the timing belt and found it was a tooth retarded. After putting the new one on , setting the timing and replacing the head (I'm still at only 150 psi on all 3 cyl) it ran fine till a week ago. That's when the service engine soon light came on.

Disconnect the plug to the crankshaft sensor and check the resistance between the terminals. Should be between 360 and 460 ohms. I would double check my timing marks and make sure they are dead on as well.

What did you have your meter set on? Check out the pictures at post 64 here,

http://geometroforum.com/topic/4464045/5/

Its not a crank sensor but you get the idea. You only have two terminals just like the plug in the picture on your crank sensor. My meter is set on 200 scale in that picture. To test your crank sensor set your meter on 2000 on the ohm scale.

I would pull it and take it to the parts place and take your meter and check yours and check a new one and see what the differance is between the two.

Snatch it and take it to the parts house and compare it with a new one.

Thanks for letting me know. We like to hear back. Often in a thread you never hear if their problem was solved or not. Thanks, glad its fixed.
