I've been looking to get another Geo since my current one is rusting apart on me. I'd like to have a spare to drive around while I have the frame and body of my current one R&R'd. Found a metallic blue '97 3/5 not too far from work. He was asking $1800 for it, I've already got him talked down to $1000 for it without even seeing it, so something may be up with it. I'll give it a good looking over tonight before deciding on the purchase. My main deal is a rust free frame and body, I can handle any engine issues as my current car runs fine, I just want another that will last me a long time. Wish me luck on finding a good deal! If I get it I'll post pics for your car porn pleasure.

Scratch that, make it Monday when the lube needs to be ready. He doesn't have the title with him for it right now, so I'll meet up with him on Monday (I'm off anyway in case of a big earthquake or whatever...). |

I ended up having to help someone move out of an abusive household today, so I didn't go check the car out today. I'll be getting up bright and early tommorrow morning to test out the car. |

Got the car, it sat close to a house that burned down, so the plastic trim on the passenger side needs replacing as well as the passenger fender needs to be popped back out. Talked him down $600 as that was what he had in the new motor. Will post pictures later. |

Yes it does. The guy who owned it bought it from the previous owner after the coolant tube leaked out the coolant and the motor had a meltdown. |

Here's the car sitting in the garage. That's it's good side. I have to rev match to downshift into second (no surprise there). First order of business was replacing those E3 plugs with Autolite platinums.   Next up was flushing the tranny and adding synchromesh.  Here's an engine shot, nothing special, and I already removed the snorkel.  Fart cannon already pre-installed. Will be getting a silencer for this sucker.   Should it stay or go?  And finally, the main reason for getting it. Rust free!  Both frame horns look like this one (this is the driver's side). |

It does have a bad side to it. It needs a new passenger side fender, and a dent on the edge of the passenger door beside the fender fixed, and it needs all replacement plastic trimming on the passenger side where it was too close to a house fire. The passenger headlight bucket needs to be replaced as well as the front bumper. It has a great, rust free body, but the car is pretty rough looking on the passenger side. |
