You can actually see that the trim which goes around the windsheild wipers needs to be replaced where the passenger side melted. See in the engine bay shot what I'm talking about? Now picture anything that's plastic on one entire side of your car looking like that. Two-face would be a very fitting name for this car.

It'll be cleaned up over time, but for now it's going to be my winter car. Just needs new trim, a bumper, fender, and a headlight bucket and it should look good as new. |

Starscream, you should be ashamed of yourself. You stole that thing!  I was expecting something that looked like someone had wailed on it with a baseball bat. I'm not sure I would even worry too much about fixing it. Maybe a fender. Your lucky in that just about every part you need is not hard to find. Two face, awesome name.

I forgot to mention this earlier, yesterday when I was fiddling with the car and getting to know it better, I noticed the dizzy was cranked almost all the way advanced, yet the car didn't ping on me at all on the way home. I checked the timing and it was +10 BTDC. I bumped it back down to +8 BTDC, but a two degree adjustment doesn't visually change the position of the dizzy by much. Does this sound like it's one tooth advanced? I'm fairly certain that is right and not one tooth retarded... |

Now that I typed it out and read it, I'm sure that I have it backwards because if it was one tooth advanced and the dizzy was advanced almost all the way, the car would he rattling it's brains out. Still want input from you all on it before I go diving into the car. |

oh my word...poor car...and do you know if anyone got hurt in the house fire?...but you got a steal on the car...great name for it, at least for the time being till it gets fixed up a bit more decently

Put the timing back where it was, the more the merrier, as long as it's not pinging. Looks as if your windshield is delaminating from the heat. Will that go through inspection? |

If the timing marks are right, you are set right. If they are set right, and it runs poorly with 8* advance, it needs a rebuild. Ask me how I know. |
