Put the timing back where it was, the more the merrier, as long as it's not pinging.

Looks as if your windshield is delaminating from the heat. Will that go through inspection?

It did delaminate some, but there are no inspections in my state ;)

If the timing marks are right, you are set right. If they are set right, and it runs poorly with 8* advance, it needs a rebuild. Ask me how I know.
Are you already rebuilding again??

I know the timing belt has to be off a tooth. My other Geo's dizzy would sit about right in the middle for +8 BTDC as well as Unicron7's dizzy. The car doesn't have much get up and go right at the bottom end, but it picks up power once the revs start building, can't say at what RPMs though as this car doesn't have a tach.

No, it ran like shit before. I rebuilt it and it runs like a...raped...well not a raped ape, but it runs a lot better.

So... How do you go about removing the window trim without damaging it, as well as the roof line trim and the trim that goes down the middle of the door.

I know how to remove the door trim beside the window, it's held on with 3 screws, but don't know how to remove the rest without screwing it up.

Blow torch on extreme heat setting?

Or maybe you could ask an ex-CAMI plant worker how they installed said items?

Ask the "Amazing Jonathan"?

Just pull it off and fill in any voids with silicone.

Buy a parts metro and find out how to do it by pillaging the parts metro?

Talk to your congressman and ask for federal funding for a study of metro trim removal proceedures.

Heck, starscream, I don't know how it's attached, I'm just giving some wild suggestions. :cheers

It looks like the side trim on the door has a 3M type adhesive, or that could just be another part of the melted trim that I was looking at...

Which side trim? Low on the door or betwixt the window and the top of the door?

Low on the door trim is adhesive. Trim on window sill is held in place with friction. You will have to pull interior door panels out to get the outside window sill trim off.

It's a 3m type product. My 95 had it.

Just go to a PnP and ruin some trim from one there, and learn.

Then I'll go ruin some for you whenever I get over to one next, and take lots of pics.

A heat gun & some gloves should do the trick on the side trim. I took mine off on a hot, sunny, humid day. It took quite a while actually. That 3M stuff is pretty tough. A heat gun or even a hair blow dryer should speed up the process. Then I used Goo Gone & got most of the remaining 3M adhesive off.

Where did you get new 3M stripping for the door trim?
