EGD Get annother wax gasket, replace that, and as far as sitting level the only real way is to get a good shim under it to make it level, and once its level, and you get your camode back in, use a caulking around the toilet so you wont see the shim, thats what i usually do. |

Um...level the floor? Not sure. We'd have to see the floor to see what you're talking about. May have to box in a toilet pad and pour a patch of self-leveling compound around the mounting flange. |

Its a slab foundation and a tile floor. I dont know why but a commode does not sit level on it. I think its because the concrete is humped up around the pipe.![]()

You could always run a bead of epoxy putty around the bottom lip of the toilet before bolting it to the floor. Once it sets up, it shouldn't rock back and forth anymore. Not a cheap fix, and you'll probably never pull the toilet up again, but it shouldn't move anymore. ;-)

Sometimes I wished I just had a hole in the floor to poop and pee in.

My wife already complains because I miss the commode hole on occasion. With shooting for the hole in the floor, I would surely miss more often. |

My latest idea is to go up thru the attic and devise a rainwater catch system and a couple of 55 gallon drums and a feed system down to the commode to use rainwater instead of city water to flush my commodes. Our city has figured out they can tap the water rates for revenue and water is getting pricey here! They charge for water and then a sewer fee on top of that which increases as well with the amount of water you use. Water use to be cheap but not any more. |

My "gramd" idea using the turlet to save energy was to make a water chiller out of a small fridge guts. The hot coils would be smerged in the tank of the turlet to cool off the freon. As you flushed it would refill with cold water and the waste heated water would move the waste. Currently I just adjust the tank so it uses the least amount of water needed to successfully flush. I have a few water bottles on it too to take up space. If I have a real load to flush I will just hold the lever down to let all the water in it.

To level the toilet use these http://www.lowes.com/pd_90064-10362-SHM1-12-TW_?PL=1&productId=3377156 Put the toilet down - level it with shims, tape the shims down to the floor. Pull the toilet, put the wax ring down, set the toilet back down on the shims, bolt the toiled down, score and snap the shims. |

Thanks. I used washers last time but they did not work to well. I do not want to have to do this a third time. |

Right below where it says something like (other customers also have viewed these) I saw this, ever use these? Cost more and probably would do no better than the ones you suggested above. http://www.lowes.com/ProductDisplay?partNumber=247891-143-PP836-55L&langId=-1&storeId=10151&productId=3133327&catalogId=10051&cmRelshp=req&rel=nofollow&cId=PDIO1 |

Instead of the cadillac commode, I will have to stick with the metro commode. Although I like the light function of the cadillac model! |
