Well I think I may have found my unlevel problem. Bought a flange today and stuck it on there and noticed the flange was about a inch from being flush with the tiles. So to make the flange flush with the tiles I had to whack off the pipe. Now my flange is flush and will see soon whether the commode is gonna fit flush with the floor or require shimming.

Make sure you screw the flange down tight otherwise you will have rocking issues and sealing issues and gas escaping issues.

Leave it like it is. Then tell the wifey, "Honey, I've decided to go 'green'". ;) Wonder how long you would have to sleep on the couch after that remark? :lol

Strange that I found this thread. I have a question. There is a 4" piece of PVC sticking up in all my neighbors yards. They all have a cap on them, some have a sealed cap, others have a clean out style cap with the square on the top. Some dumbass (previous owners of this house) knocked off ours with a lawnmower. The cap is broken off and smells of sewage. As a temporary fix, I bought one of these Posted Image

It fits well and was stupid easy to install. My neighbors paid 250 dollars to have a cap put on theirs, and this was 5 dollars at home depot. Anything wrong with using this instead of a cap?

Only if the code man says something about it.

I think I will replace the wingnut on the top with a regular ole nut to keep someone from messing with it...or at least make it a little harder for them.
