The Wii is set up to run Gamecube games. Just add your Gamecube controllers and memory cards. The Gamecube ports are in the top under a cover.

I love my Wii, although I haven't messed with it since we moved again, but I have all of my games on an external hard drive, along with all kinds videos, emulators, etc. After you get the Homebrew Channel, the Wii can become an amazing media center, streaming anything from your PC or the internet + have the game cube funcion.

you can run emulators for any console if your PC is fast enough. My brother in law has a really really nice compy he uses for work and games and he runs a Xbox 360 emulator on it. He can even change the way the game runs like a pc game, but for the xbox only games. Its pretty cool.

Brother has a homebrew Wii. He homebrew'd one and mad instructions on how to download games, and included everything you needed except the games themselves and sold it on craigslist for $600. Lotta money to just write up a how to and then run some basic software on the wii.

Anything after PS2 needs one hell of a computer. Massive amounts of ram. and 3ghz cpu dual core or more. Only got into the nintendo systems N64 and earlier. the cube and the wii just never got into them.

On a side note, you think GameCube games are expensive? FF7 new is like 150+, if it has the misprint on the back (first production line) its 200+.

good luck on your search, and http://www.vizzed.com/playonlinegames/ is a site i visit frequently at work to play old games. its an awesome site.
