Thanks so much for that. Had noticed some things that didn't look right. Will post some picks shortly...but that will help me understand what I see for now. Thanks again |

Already know that I will need AT least one rocker arm, do these come with all necessary parts or order them separate?(ROLLER THAT RIDES ON THE CAM,Self adjuster, etc, etc.) Also ......where do you normally order these parts from???? DEALER??? Thanks again.... |

Roller is going to come in one piece with the rocker arm, lifter (adjuster) is a separate part. Rockers are probably going to be aq dealer or junkyard part, lifters (proper name here is adjuster) are readily available as they fail all the time. |

Thanks again....found the "adjusters" on line last night but could not find the rocker arms and roller. Got to disassemble it to see exactly how many of what I'm going to need before ordering.... Any necessary disassembly/assembly instructions before I dive into this??? Any do's or DON'TS??? Torque specs for the rods that hold the rocker arms??? Thanks..... |

If you have a 2 button computer mouse you can position the mouse arrow over any picture and click the right button. Even the two below. A box should appear and you look for Copy Image Location. Those are the words if you use Firefox for your web browser. For IE; CLICK HERE , but you are looking to copy the line from http to .jpg/.tif/.png/.gif (a URL). Here on the forum you click on the box that says Image and paste the URL in the box. The same goes for YouTube Flash videos and you still past the URL in the dialogue box but then decide the video screen size. Looks like: Click this "thumbnail" pic for full view. |

Thanks....Guess that will work. It says copy image url..... Use Chrome more than any other browser though.....faster to us. Now just need to know how many ft. lbs to tighten the rods that hold the rocker arms in place and I'll be in business..... Ordered the adjusters last night.....going to go ahead and replace all of them since they are an issue with the 1.3 litre engine.. Need to order the rocker arm from Chevrolet dealer..hopefully Monday. Thanks again.. |

I don't think it's very critical, they're just holding the shaft down against valve spring pressure. My FSM is for the newer style, 16 valve engine, but the rocker shafts are very similar in design. On the newer heads the rocker shaft bolts are to be torqued to 97 lb/in (8 lb/ft). |

OK...finally got all the parts together....GM dealer gave me a hard time about the rocker arm...at first said he couldnt get it and then said backorder....blah,blah,blah.... Anyway...anything I should know to help ease the reinsertion of the rods that hold the rocker arms??? Turn the cam to certain point to ease the pressure on the valves???Any other advice??? Thanks ready to get this "97 back on the road........ |

Finished the rocker arm project today. Cranked up nicely and ran great! CEL was on first time driven and reset before the second drive...so no issue there... Bottom end still sounds sloppy....but thats a project for another day!! Thanks for all the help...............
