water pump leaking like crazy. got a new one and other goodies coming in.

when we did the welding we tried to remove the WP pulley to make the welding easier to get too.

removed the 4 bolts but pulley did not budge. is it supposed to just "come off" once those 4 bolts are removed or is there some special trick to getting it off?

I loosen the water pump pulley bolts with the drive belt installed. I tighten then with the drive belt installed.

Right. His problem is, he has the bolts out but the pulley is stuck. You have seen it happen. These small waterpump pulley bolts are easy to strip. Do not over do them.

Just tap it in.
I was wondering if someone would catch that.

the pulley won't come OFF. so I will start with the PB and Torching daily until the part arrive. Going to try and tighten the pump a little to try and slow down the leak as its going to be 4 or 5 more days before the parts get here (of course he shipped it 9 FRAKING DAY UPS. punk ass moron. I would gladly have paid a few dollar more for "sane" shipping :-)

Why would you expect tightening the pump to slow down the leak?

You got a picture of this pulley? If you have all the bolts out, a swift smack with a hammer will take it off..

I whacked it pretty darned hard. Hard enough I feared damaging it if I tried harder.

Tomorrow I am going to torch it and then quench it with PB and do this daily till the part arrive. hopefully that will loosen its death grip.

Do you guys have links to good threads with instructions for me? Here is what I am getting and changing.

Water Pump
both crank and cam seal
timing belt and tensioner
valve cover seal

want to make sure I have everything I need.

You could probably use some kind of gear puller. With the extra time you could rig one.

I bet if you put the belt back on and tighten it up and crank up the car it will come off on its on! :lol

If your really having that hard of a time with it, put you a pry bar behind the pulley like this and pry towards the fender.
