I've been watching these little cars ever since they first came out.

Unfortunately they will never sell for $2500 here in the USA. By the time they add Kalifornia emissions, 26 airbags, backup camera, cruise control, heated seats, theater system, in-dash car PC, GPS, then it'll cost $17,000 and get 35 MPG like every other car currently being made here.

Lol yea u wont ever get a brand new car here for 2500.....the best deal ive seen within the past few years was a kia for 6999. i called because i was interested in what it didnt come with. lets just say no radio. no ac i think. pretty much had the same features as a powerwheels vehicle

That would never pass safety standards here. if you go down the wiki page, you will see the European version they are working on is heavier, less fuel efficient ( because of bigger engine) and cost 6,000. To sell one in the nanny state of the U S of A, figure adding another couple hundred pounds and 3 grand in safety improvements. :smackface

I've been wanting one for about five years. Wish the big three could figure it out. Third world countries are going to leave us in the dust because of their ingenuity.

Their ingenuity dont count. They do not have an Environmental Protection Agency. Disband our EPA and bring that engineering here.

The EPA isn't what kills cars like this, it is the NTSB with all of their safety requirements wich in turn has evolved from all of the rediculous settlements people have gotten from lawsuits in this country. You wanna blame somebody for us not getting cars like the nano? Blame the lawyers, idiot jurrors, and people who claim hundreds of thousands of dollars in injuries when they were bumped at 10MPH and there was absolutely no way they were really hurt. You know the saying.....You can't disprove a back injury. that is why we have this current Nanny state, and that is why we will never see cars like this or like the metro ever again. :die
