2 Swifts n a Turbo Sprint

Alright... I REALLY DO NOT WANT to have to pull the head off to undo 3 nuts. So anyone with a Turbo have a method to removing those evil fasteners. :banghead

I've debated loosening the front engine mount, and drooping the engine. Any hints, I'm hitting this devil beyotch tomorrow. :lol

On the regular intake, 2 of them are a beyotch too. For those, a stubby wrench is good (5" or 6" ?? Any way, the optimal size). A ratcheting type is nice once you have it broke loose. I bought the Harbor Freight ratcheting set and they have been quite good, except that I keep losing them. Good luck. Also lucky you :drool with a Turbo Sprint !!!

never did an intake on a turbo swift or metro
but
i have done zillions of intake manifolds on many different systems including NA G10 s
and the
BPY type VW turbo direct injection engines which are a great deal of fun .

i use a long 1/4" extension and a flexible 12mm socket to get many / most of the asian intake manifold bolts .
sometimes
you need a leprechaun to get in there and get the last nut , when you get there ,
look for the path way to feed in the long extension with the flexible / wobble socket.

there is always a pathway , the manifold was not born on the cylinder head

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll try the wobbler and the 12mm, and hope I can get on that most despicable of all, the lower center nut.

Mother F....

I had to use wrenches and very very short swings to get two of the bottom nuts, the bottom left is hidden behind a water outlet barb so you can't get a 1/4" socket in there... :banghead

I'd like to tackle a t3 manifold as the regular throttle body one is easy once you figure it out. Does the t3 have a egr valve? If so take it off to give yourself more room to work. As far as the middle bottom bolt you coud try heating up a 12mm box end wrench with a torch and putting more bend in it so when it is on that nut it doesn't hit anything.

Nope, no EGR valve.

Just evil castings, and piss all for room to work due to the location. Fussy work, took forever getting nuts off, went quickly putting it back together.
