I still feel that the synthetic will provide for better sludge & lubrication protection. :hmm After seeing the insides of what the cheap stuff does, I'm willing to pay the price....I think. :hmm

I absolutely agree. My point was that a lot of people insist that because they have used expensive synth oil that they can run it extended periods with no negative effects. The oil change intervals given in the manuals always specify "under normal or ideal conditions". The severe service intervals are much less and running short trips is one of the worst severe services. Filters take out dirt but the only thing that flashes off condensate is running for extended periods at full operating temp.

Use the synth oil and know that it is doing a great job. Just understand that it can't protect against condensate that accumulates and causes acidity. In short trip service, oil change intervals should be by time and not mileage.
