I don't know where you heard ours was MIT1 but that's not entirely correct. Yes, a MIT1 will work its not the only style that will work. Here is a full list of keys that should be compatible.

I am going to see if they will let me buy a sample of 1 or 2 to see if it fits.

if yes is there any interest in maybe a group buy (just noticed they require you to order $200 worth !!! ouch. only $1 a pop though :-)

I could probably put up $40 or $50 worth.

It should, I have a MIT8 key from a Mitsubishi Galant (looks just like the ones on the site) I can go outside and see if it fits the lock or not

The later model metros use a different style: axxess+ 31R, the older metros use the axxess+ 51R (R denotes plastic body), I'd be in for $20 worth of blanks. PM me when/if you get to ordering.
These keys will also fit matching year geo's and suzuki's including tracker/sidekick and swifts.

If you look at my list, the axxess+51 is there. The list I have is for compatible keys to my current key for my 95 Metro (ilco X184 B65) I had 3 keys to this car when I bought it, and they where all ilco X184 B65.

BTW, nerys an MIT8 will fit. I just checked if my Mitsubishi key would fit the Geo lock, and it does.

If I really needed custom keys for my vehicles, I'd probably just make them on CNC... Hmmm... that might be the best idea I've had all day...

that is $100. pretty close. I am going to see if I can get a response from someone about placing an order.

it does help fuel economy. mine personally. I carry my keys around my neck the lighter keys are really nice :-) hehe :-)

-----------------

well scratch that idea. Looks like they raised the minimum to 200 keys $195. no way we are going to get such an order together :-(

as long as the wards machined into the sides of the key allow it to enter the car and the bitting goes up high enough to engage the highest wafer in the ignition lock the key can be machined to work with the car.
