1995 Metro LSi 3 cylinder 5 speed.

Trying to read CEL codes, but when I put a jumper (spare fuse I'm using is good) in the diag spot in the fuse box, the CEL light just remains lit, and the shift light flickers on really fast (almost appears to be on constantly).

Car is cutting out. Link to post with details below. Just trying to cover more bases.

Thanks For any help / ideas anyone may have.... :banghead

Battery low on the car? Turn headlights on and see how bright they are.

Battery appears fine (~12.8), Alternator putting out (~14 running/idleing)...

Headlights need 'the fix'... saw wire burnt at fuse box when trying to read CEL... currently using running lights, with parking lights on, but non the less they are bright.

Sounds like a voltage problem of some sort to me. Bad cable connection, shorted plate in the battery, short somewhere.

May be a problem in the main fuse block (under hood), loose connection or corrosion.
