I have a 1995 Geo Metro with 160,000 miles on the engine when I bought it. I ended up rebuilding the engine due to oil consumption. The engine now runs great and does not use any oil, however I do have a very erratice idle when sitting at a stop. I did notice the engine was doing this slightly before but now seems much worse. Forgot to mention this is the G10 engine.

Have you done any thinking about what could possibly be causing your erratic idle? Change any parts?

Whatever you do, don't mess with the throttle position sensor. It's probably not that.

Have you checked the idle vacuum?

Welcome to your new forum, bluemetropimpin! :coffee

What Geo Glenn said and one step further is to simply replace your vacuum hoses for less than $10? The two sources of vacuum leaking will be hoses and gaskets. I used a new intake gasket on my install. But new hoses is a good place to start. Spraying gaskets with carb. cleaner or starter fluid and listening for rpm changes is another step.
