Until two weeks ago I had a Miata with an upgraded LS1 engine. Now we just have an MSM Miata (factory turbo) and a Toyota Tacoma. Picture from 25 years ago -my Fiat, RX7, and Chevy Sprint Metro (I wish I still had it!):

1986 Caddy Deville. That car is the reason I got my metro. I was spending $50 dollars a week to get back and forth from work and my Metro costs me about $17. I have saved more in gas in 2 years than the money my Metro cost me and any repairs I put into it. |

All I got left besides my Metros is my 1995 Chevy 1/2 ton 4X4 mud truck. I do not drive it much anymore except in the mud, but that will soon change

99 Ford Taurus SE 3.0 Vulcan V-6. Bought a little over two years ago with only 48k km. Less than 30k miles. It was my commuter. I have put 160k km 100k miles on it. It runs like new still. When the price of gas shot up early this year I decided that 35mpg was not enough. 3Tech Mike, who is a co-worker, convinced me to look for a 3/5. I think he just wanted the sale of another econo cam and advance sprocket but being a long, long time classic Mini racer and owner, it was not too much of a stretch to look at the bigger and faster Metro. Yep, it was a step UP from the 35hp 850cc or 40hp 1.0L Mini to the Metro. From my 120-130hp 1200lb race cars, meh , not so much. The Metro saves me about $200 a month in fuel so it allows me to keep the Ford as a "luxury ride" for now. My GF is currently driving it as she has a torn rotater and cannot drive her manual Acura.
