Today i bought a g13 from a 95/96 4cylinder. I only need the bottom of this motor. It is an 8 valve.

I am going to put my 16 valve head on this bottom end.

Will my head bolt on?
Will i need to trade out belt sprockets?
Can I use any old g10/g13 rings or does the 16 VALVE piston take a special ring size?

Bad move sorry :( you’ll need to swap out the con rods and pistons. The 8 valve has a different sized wrist pin and valve reliefs are nowhere close and only half there :). Learned this the hard way like you. crank journals are the same however

The rings are the same something like 1.5mm, the crank sprocket is different, the 16v has 8 teeth and 8v has 4 iirc. But that would depend on which ignition you use. With a distriutor it would be the 4 for the top coil 8. Yes the head will bolt right up.
