While going home from work yesterday, I wrecked my 93 daily driver. I was cruising down highway 7 in spanaway when all of a sudden a total MORON pulled out in front of someone. Everyone panicked. People were locking up their brakes and diving for the shoulder. A lady in the next lane slightly ahead of me hit the binders hard and swerved into my lane. It was wet, and I have studded snow tires on ( bad combination for traction). It hit my brakes, but could not stop in time and hit her. Didn't hit very hard. Damage to her car was minimal. The problem is she had a very high bumper. Basically my bumper went under hers, so my car took the impact to my hood and radiator support. My hood is toast, the upper radiator support is pushed back about four inches, lights and all trim are gone. The radiator is leaning back, nearly touching my transmission and distributor. Luckily, the radiator is not damaged. It is in the hands of the insurance companies now to sort out blame, meanwhile, I will pull the radiator out and begin straightening the support back out. I have most of the parts I need to fix it in stock so its not tragic, but just really ticks me off. I guess it could have been worse. Happy friggin new year, huh!

Well, looks like you expended all of your 2012 bad luck. Sorry, but you have no more bad luck points to use for the upcoming year! ![]() |

Sorry to here about your car, that is about the same damage level I had when I hit a deer a couple of years ago. Are we going to get together this year in Everett again? Andy |

Well, lets see, right before I wrecked my car, I found out I have to work today! That sucks. Then when I got home, a tree had fallen and I had no power until 1 o'clock this morning. That really sucks! I am now here at work, supervising One person running a machine to make one part. We are the only two people here (with the exception of the security guards) at a plant consisting of a dozen or so buildings and usually staffed by 3,000 + people. This really, really sucks. I'm not sure if its bad luck or just the universe conspiring to ruin my weekend. Cause nothing REALLY bad happened. I can fix my car and have most of the parts, my power is back on, and I am one of the fortunate employed, but my weekend just sucks, and it will take me most of my spare time the next week to fix my car. No....not bad luck just the universe having a laugh at my expense. Hope everybody has a better day than me. Happy new year GMF! |

I had $5800 dollars worth of damage to my '95. Not only was it totaled by the insurance company, it was beyond economical repair. I ended up with a fat $1500 insurance check, got to keep the carcass, and got a sales tax credit towards the next car. I had to work the insurance guy a little bit, and he had to call the boss. The initial offer was so low, I couldn't have bought a POS Metro. Gasoline was $4 per gallon at the time. Hope things go better for you today.

The good thing is that you are OK, hopefully no one else was hurt. You have insurance, so you are not out paying for the other person's car. And, hopefully, you are getting OT for working today. And you do have parts to fix your car, and I assume a way to get to and from work. It sucks, but it could have sucked a LOT worse! |
