I had the worst experience today with two people I wont soon forget After the previous buyer defaulted on buying one of my Geos I was contacted by someone else who REALLY wanted it. They said they'd send their sister and brother-in-law to come take a look at it. 6:45 rolls around and sure enough they arrive, in a 2011 Mercedes Benz of the most expensive variety. They both step out (the woman behind the wheel) in very expensive suits and approach me cautiously with an overall "air" of superiority, the man carrying on a business call on his cell phone the entire time. They relentlessly drilled me about my old geo (which I was selling for parts) and then proceeded to poke and prod until they both felt satisfied. After asking why I would drive such a horrid machine they called their "buyer" I guess and questioned her the same. I spoke with her and she sounded MUCH more down to earth and not like "them". After some more geo-bashing they questioned me about my personal life, etc such as politics. When I briefly mentioned the buyer who backed out didnt speak English very well she lost it, spewing racial terms left and right. After explaining her so called "Republican" ideas I was thoroughly weirded out and finally they said their buyer would be in touch with me and got back in their ugly overpriced German car and drove off without so much as a handshake. To me that was total bs. What kind of people do that, I have never been treated like that in my entire life! NOTE: No political debates please, anything said here was their bringing up and in no way related to me. ![]() Edited by Johnny Mullet, Jan 4 2012, 09:15 PM.

Your car, your place. It amazes me that you stood there and took it. I would have told them where to put their attitudes and slammed the door in their face |

It is probalby all about apperance for them and they really can't afford the merc b they drove up in. So why in the world would they bash a car they are thinking about buying? Wow.

Real rich people don't drive flashy cars for the most part. People that want to appear rich do. Those people probably spend the majority of their income on debt service to pay for fancy cars, houses, jewelry, etc to impress their peers that are doing the same. It's sad really. I suspect the majority of Metro owners on this site could afford a much more expensive vehicle but drive a Metro because they want to. |

Perhaps they own or he works for an auto shop. They may just be doing the leg work for a friend who needs a car but has limited funds. (I do that, but, I drive my Geo) Yes, they should have a better attitude. True, they should not be bashing a car they are trying to buy, or help someone buy. When the actual buyer comes around, he/she may have a better attitude an you 2 can work out something reasonable. |

I've had weirder things happen when selling things, although I usually don't waste my time getting offended. I'm more likely to point out that the car (or other object) is the only topic I'm willing to discuss, usually they get the message after only a short while. If they do not, I indicate their time is up and move on, since I am not in that much of a rush to get rid of anything. |
