Looks like he got the car yesterday and put about 45 minutes into cleaning it up. The Armor All-and-lint look on the dash is really hot. I especially like how you can see the tracks on the doors and dash where the Armor All dripped down... Rust on the rockers appears to have been given "The Krylon Touch". It looks like a family of cavemen lived in the car before it was hurriedly "detailed". Filthy engine compartment (pressure washing only costs $2!). Rust. It's the Metro model that few people want: a 4 cylinder automatic WITH AIR. Hell, might as well buy a 1999 Saturn SL and have some room for the 30 mpg you can expect. RUST. My favorite line in the ad? "you would think this is a foreign luxury car"! Wow. I have seen Metros that people are asking a grip of money for, and most are nicer than this one. This car looks like it was probably a NE salt-on-the-roads rental car for 4-5 years, bought by somebody at an auction, and driven little for the last 5-6 years. Nothing wrong with that, but it's not a 200%-of-Kelly-Blue-Book kind of car. He'd be damned lucky to get half what he is asking, but I suppose he can ask what he wants. What a mook. Now $5000 for a minty 1999-2000 3/5 with zero rust and 66k? Well, that's a different story... |
