Has anyone ever participated in a Turkey Shoot?

I'd stumbled on a few here in Virginia. People shooting at targets for prizes of meat or money.

Looks fun!

Here's a list of some places that host Turkey Shoots at various times of the year.

Fastest Hampster EVER

Goodness. That list looks like a bunch of east coast redness hijacked it. I figured the center part of the country would have a better showing, but I guess we don't need to "prove" our shooting prowess. We just go into the woods and kill what we want to eat.The only folks we have to impress is our families. It's so nice to put the young 'uns to bed with full tummies. Momma's happy too.

Wish the younger generation would get involved with shooting activities. That is a skill that a lot of folks will need shortly. Thanks for the link, billy. Hope you win a few turkeys and hams..Ummmmm, good eating for sure.

That used to be done a lot around here. It was some think like 5 dollars a round. Maybe 12 people or so would shoot at a target with a X on it. Closest to the Center won. A winner every round. It was a lot of fun. Some groups did it as a fund raiser. :banana :banana :banana

"chicken shoots" are popular around here at trap clubs. you win different prizes when different colored clays come up, if you break em.
