So the wife got you a new laptop, huh boss? What did you get for her? Hehe.

New stuff always blows old crap out of the water. My wife is aching for me to buy her an Asus laptop. $600 is a little steep right now, maybe I'll start a GMF collection for Mrs.dayle1960.

True test of a great wife is how many toys she buys for you. Mrs.JM must love you a lot.

Keep her JM, she keeps you on the straight and narrow.

Our laptap crapped out a couple of years ago. My wife has been wanting another one. Looks like the price is right on that for a dual core processor and a 500gb (never need anymore) harddrive.

Mine likes to curl up in the lazyboy and watch tv while computering. My last laptop broke off at the hinges from opening and closing it so much. A week point I dont care about laptops.

Congrats on the gift.

You may want to consider backing up files on a separate external source or device.

I bought an Acer 5552-7474 "open box" deal on eBay last month for $370 shipped. It was the cheapest quad core I could find.
15.6" HD LED LCD
4GB RAM
320GB Hard Drive
AMD Phenom II X4 N970

I bought it primarily to edit workout videos for our patients so they have a visual on how to properly perform certain exercises. So far I'm really pleased with it. Glad you've got a zippy new laptop John. Makes life much easier huh?

Horn, I have to sleep with this woman. A woman can be a lot meaner than any man ever thought about being!

Hah! I remember clearly when the IBM PC-XT came out in early '83 with 128 KB of memory and a 10 MB hard drive. Someone (I think it was Bill Gates) said you would never need any more storage space. Of course, the AT came out a year later with 256 K and 20 Megs.

Billy said many memorable things, but I believe the one your talking about was “640K ought to be enough for anybody.” -Bill Gates (1981)

“640K ought to be enough for anybody.”

-If he was referring to miles on his Metro then I would have to agree with him.
(Says the guy with 645,000 miles on his 1986 toyota pickup- original owner. Actually, I have said if anything major goes wrong with it at this point I'm taking off some parts and sending it to a farm out in the country. 640K was enough)
