Do you file the old fashion way by filling in the paperwork yourself? Do you use an online program like turbotax? A local accountant? Or an hr block type company? I use turbotax but not sure if its time for a change.... |

turbotax online for sure...use to do it online thru h & r block but they took away the free version long time ago, weve been w/ turbo and pay only 20 bucks...our taxes are pretty simple except child tax, earned income, etc...we dont own any property or rent out a house so no need for that stuff... |

TurboTax, baby. All I do is give my w2 over to the wife and she does all of the leg work. She goes and buys the trubotax, sets is up on the computer, fills in all of the blanks, signs the electornic box, and hits the send button. All I get to do is look at the ..............heck I don't even get a check anymore, it's direct depostited into our checking account and the wife snatches it out of that account before I even know it is in there. Guess that's why I have a happy marriage, I never know about the money I'm not missing. |

I usually go with turbo tax. This year I'm going to use the free tax services at my university and get the accountant students to do it for me

I had some very serious income tax issues a few years ago. A local tax accountant saved my ass. I still use him to do my taxes. He doesn't charge very much and it is a good way to say thanks. If you ever get in a bind with the IRS, get some good help. Dont say anything to them. Let your accountant handle it.

Usually I do it myself. More complex years I'll use turbotax online to check over my own numbers. |

I do it myself with a pen and paper then mail it in using a stamp. My only concession to the present day is direct deposit. |
