150 lumens is a lot of light, that sounds like a great deal. One thing to keep in mind is that some sneaky suppliers will say something like rated at bla bla bla, but they don't actually put out that much. Costco is a good company, so hopefully they dont have any of that. If the reviews are good then the lights are probably good. If you buy a pack, please post your impressions.

Edit: I did a Google search and found a review of them here . There were a few comments about the 150 lumen brightness being closer to 100, but 100 is still very good. There were consistant complaints about undue battery drain. If they work this out, these lights will be a very good bargin even if they are not built heavy duty and have all the bells and whistles.

My FenixE21 is supposed to be able to yield 154 lumens for 2 hrs 15 mins on 2AA batteries (Ni-MH , Alkaline - unknown miliamp hrs). It's supposed to provide uniform brightness via digital regulation for this period :news . We'll have to see how it goes.

My last led purchase was the store brand that advance auto sells that takes 2 C cells. Maybe its the temperature of the led, but it seems to be the brightest or at leaset best beam pattern of them all.

Wow, :O :holycrap

That's pretty darn good for only 50 watts! Those looked like regular LEDs, but it looks like that setup would beat the pants off of two of the 100 watt equivalent fluorescent, twist in bulbs that use about 26 watts each.

I have the Fenix HP10 which is a 4AA headlamp rated at 225 lumens. I rarely use the high power usually use low (7 lumens) or med (50 lumens) when working on stuff in the garage. It is a very good light in all respects. Battery life is amazing (210 hours on low, 22 hours on med). It gets used literally every day because I'm always in the garage working and I walk the dog every night with it and it's the poop spotter light. It's a great bike light too, when just worn on your head. It was $60 and totally worth it.

I hate how most LED headlamps use AAA batteries that cost the same as AA but have just 1/3 the capacity. I will never buy a headlamp that takes AAA.

500 leds? I avoid flashlights that use quanity over quality in their design. I too avoid lights that use an odd number of cells or aaa cells or smaller like button or lithium cells unless they are FREE.

Having said that I find the automotive led bulbs that use the standard led bulb in the proxy package seems to last the longest. I have had some that use the stars, the smd, etc and they end up flickering a few months later. I really find this ironic as my Honda doesnt keep the electrical system at 14 volts, but rather 12.5 as it doesnt constantly charge the electrical system, but cycles the battery.

Right now my cabelas 3 watt lithium recharagable is my daily user flash light. Next is some no name chinese one that takes 2 aa batteries thats rated at 3 watts. It looks like a cross between a mini mag and a surefire light. It too will suck batteries dead. I take the "dead" batteries from my camera or video camera and put them in it.

Previously my favorite was a 5 watt cabelas that used 3 of those a123 cells, but gave it to my brother for his B-day. My previous favorite was the golsten when it was rated at 7 watts. It seemed to run forever on low or dead a123 cells.

I had purchased a rockriver or 2 from Target, but they just sucked. I think someone called them finex cloans? I had a single aa cell one that would work for an hour, then die suddenly with no warning. Shortly after I broke part of the tail cap the keyring was attached to it just quit working.

I had a double cell one that was a pocket clip light. It had a purplish color and so-so beam patttern. I gave it away too. If the light really sucked I returned it to the store.

You'll need to post some beamshots. Debating to get one of these.

I'll wait for it to get dark.

I got it for the C batteries, and the instant gratification of buying it "locally".

Trust me, when the power goes out, or you really NEED a flashlight, you'll regret that dollar store flashlight. :thumb
