Nice demo! :thumb

Thanks for not showing you getting dinner with that.

I tried some target shooting once. Keeping your target in sight when the flash goes off can be a challenge. For those who don't know or are new to guns, the first thing is a flash of powder in your face (quite a distraction) and then the muzzle loader goes off.

I'm happy with my Thompson Omega. But I have been wondering about "alternatives" to the Triple Seven pellets and 209 shotshel primer.

I wonder if it would be possible to remove the primer plug and screw in a spark plug.
Then instead of propellant pellets, squirt some volatile liquid, such as gasoline a in there, followed by a patch and a regular .50 cal muzzle loader bullet.

Instead of a standared trigger, I'd use a leaf switch connected to a battery and ignition coil.

NOTE: I'm not about to try this myself, but welcome anyone to try it unsupervised and tell us the results!

:D

I've been thinking about getting into muzzleloading, never actually shot one.

The spark plug is a pretty interesting idea but probably an electronic igniter of some sort would probably be more suitable. That way you could eliminate dealing with primers altogether but you would have to make sure you had a good battery with you. Or you could rig up a backpack solar panel and you'd be environmentally friendly at the same time. B-)

Now I'm not so sure about the gasoline idea though. It would have to have a gas tank and most likely there'd be problems with the whole E10 thing. It would also have to have air mixed in and then you'd have to deal with carbs all over again. :O
