For some reason when they first talked about hom getting sick on top of the scandal I thought this was gonna happen. Great coach....not great at protecting children.

Special place in hell for him. He did not do what he should have done to protect children after he was told what was going on. Sure was great at protecting his friends and co-workers though.

Anyone who turns a blind eye to the raping or molestation of little kids is 1) just as guilty as the deranged scumbags who are committing the acts and 2) deserve the worst punishment our 'system' can dream up.

+1

I was going to post this exact sentiment but you beat me to it. I once saw a guy throwing gasoline on stray dogs and setting them on fire. I never reported it. The guy went on to do it many other time and I ignored it. But, I'm pretty good at my job (I work at a car wash) so I guess it is ok. Doesn't have the same ring to it as being a championship coach but it is the same principle. The worst part is that he was saving his own ass by not reporting it. Oh well, more multi-million dollar contracts for him. Bigger scum just does not exist...

I actually had an issue today whether or not to notify the authorities although a lot less serious than reporting child molestation. In the apartment under me I heard a couple arguing. I could hear it pretty well and mostly heard the girl screaming. Now at first I thought I shouldnt do anything. All couples argues. I didnt want to pry. But then I heard what sounded like someone getting thrown into a wall. Honestly it sounded like she was getting the shit beat out of her....after a few moments I was like I gotta call the cops. Even when the cops came they were still fighting. After that little issue idk how you couldnt call the cops especially with child molestation....

I am the one on the left.

This man may he rest in peace made bad decisions regarding information he was privy to. Those decisions negatively impacted the lives of children. One day he will stand before judgement. I thank the Lord, that it is He, not I who will do this.
How sad for those who were the victims of his silence. May they move beyond it and become contributing members of society.

Wow! That makes it sound like the victims were worthless people that did nothing for society.

not what I intended.

often, people who have suffered abuse have a hard time coping.
many times they choose self destructive behaviors.
Not all, but many.
This I know to be true.
One day I will tell you a story, but that day is not today.

Ots kinda ridiculous these guys (coaches at universities) get praised so much. Other than coaching what makes them so great? That they bring lots of money to a university? They bring a "winning tradition"....i guess the professors and grad assistance who really make a difference get paid significantly less. At siu our basketball coach gets paid $750k per year. We are probly 5 and 12.
these "legends" arent that important. Less important than soldiers, firefighters, police, teachers, most parents.....yet the coaches are treated like kings.

Not saying coaches arent good people. But they would talk about his death more than any soldiers death......
