As far as spamming goes, don't show that randomized email code, or your email at all using craigslist. Do something like this:

Please explain your reason why.

One of the hardest things to do is to get people to use your site. How are you going to get people to move from CL to your site?

It's a picture, not text. They use a lot of computers to go through and find the numbers, computers don't see numbers in a picture, they see it as a picture. I computer can, however, see numbers that you can "highlight". I.e., try to copy and paste the email address above...you can't.

It would only be for college books. Ive noticed that lots of college students dont use cl. Im not trying to take over the industry. Lol

the average college book costs 150 to 200.
then they sell it back to the bokstore for 40.
then the bookstore resells ot for 130. Rinse and repeat.

my idea may be a big bust, but i think its worth a shot.

Putting the contact info as a picture isn't a fool-proof way of avoiding spammers either. There is software that will recognize text in an image. But it probably wouldn't be an issue on smaller, less popular sites. A better solution might be good CAPTCHA software.

You are right about a smaller site.

spam emails will always be around. Just having some knowledge about the emails will help alot. I could recomend that people make an email just for selling.

Any other ideas.
