Fastest Hampster EVER

I'm in northwest Arkansas. I-540 is only two miles from my front door. If you need a stop over point or help, I will offer up my home and my tools/experience. Good luck on the trip.

Ditto what everyone has said. Also take a little extra oil/water and a few hand tools just to be safe... I am not too worried. These cars are great for road trips!

8-9 hours between stops?

In convoys, we give our drivers a rest every 4 hours at the least. During the break, pop the hood and look at everything. Switch drivers and keep everyone sharp on the road.
:+1 to this, it is especially important, I would not go over 3-4 hour intervals MAX. Road hypnosis is very real and very dangerous, car repairs are easy, human ones are often more tragic and far harder.

I do tons of motorcycle touring. I am a lady usually traveling alone. I stop every 2 hrs or so(basically to refuel on the bike) and rehydrate and stretch my legs and give myself a pit stop. I also like to take a lot of pictures along the way which also offers a bit of R&R.

Another suggestion is not to make advance /reservations but have a list of available hotels/motels/campgrounds etc and when you get tired stop. Always be sure to carry some water along. I freeze my recycled soda bottles so also have ice then water.

A good blanket & emergency pack just in case is also a good idea. I also have friends that have my itenerary & I check in with them along the way. (I have a SPOT which is a satellite tracking device). The new smartphones often have ways to do the same.

I know I've have ventured off my planned routes more than once when I have come across an interesting historic spot or something that just caught my eye.

I'm still getting to know LittleG (only had him a week & he already had 220K so..... )
