I thought it was only required that they be unsprung, not required that they be new? I might be wrong on that one though

Check this baby out: http://seattle.craigslist.org/oly/cto/2815659192.html It's a 5 speed, $800 but is in really good mechanical shape with lots of stuff already done to it. It's a bit of a "beater" cosmetic wise, but hey it looks like it runs great! |

What BOGS meant was when you take it to state patrol you just have to have airbags in it that have not been deployed, not necessarily new. Unfortunately I am not that up on Washington airbag law, but it might be worth asking if you just have to have non-deployed airbags or if they have to be certified new. |

Yes, what they said, I am not aware of any state that requires they be new, just undeployed, i.e. working or never been used. YMMV, though, your states requirements may be different. |

I just picked up a 95 3/5 hb with 150k miles on it for $1500. The 2nd gear syncro's are bad, it needs a tune-up, and has low compression (130 psi across the all 3 cylinders). I suspect the low compression is due to built up carbon. Nothing a good Seafoam treatment can't fix eh? |

Built up carbon will raise compression. Seafoam can't do anything about worn down metal. |

ah well, I'll do some maintenance on the car and see what happens. Gonna change the trans fluid and a few other things this morning before I head down to pay it off. I'm sooo not looking forward to doing another DRL bypass. |

the last time I did it it took me an hour because I was confused about the wire colors (I'm partially color blind and the colors were faded) |

I think I went off a similar pic last time and still ended up being confused (but got the job done right). |
