Someone on eBay has made a replica of the Litestar Pulse and selling two of them at $12,500 each as partially finished kits. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pulse-Litestar-Trike-Motorcycle-fiberglass-Kit-Car-Replica-AUTOCYCLE-electric-/140679836830?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item20c12bf49e Nice, but I have a few big ticket items to pay for this year. Otherwise I'd go for it myself. ![]() http://green.autoblog.com/2011/04/21/new-york-2011-litestar-pulse-is-a-taste-of-the-1980s-we-can-get/ |

I almost bought one of them YEARS AND YEARS ago (the original). it was sitting in front of a gas station on the black horse pike for over 4 years but he would not budge from the $4500 asking price and at 16 I flat out could not afford that kind of price. Would have almost killed for one of them. LOVED the design.

Same thing with the Delorean. When they went out of business in the 80s, I was in high school and they were going for $5000 each. |

Why would you want this instead of a motorcycle? I do like them though... |

Well, how often do you get to realize an adolescent dream - one that gets 65 mpg+ and is a pretty cool looking ride at that? For $12,500 and a little assembly. Paint, etc. I can gert a factory new Delorean now. Company in Texas bought up all the spare parts from the plant in Ireland and is putting them together for $50K-$60K. Makes it a little outta my reach at the moment. Better to get a good used one for $20K. Edited by BillHoo, Feb 3 2012, 10:48 AM.

True, it doesn't look safe but then again, we do drive Geos for the most part. In any event, it has to be safer than a motorcycle, certainly more eye catching. In a car like that, visibility is always a plus which is a problem for bikes. Ughh, didn't even paint the frame: I'd knock off at least a grand for that.

They've been street legal since they came out in the 80s. And they were licenses as motorcycles. Edited by BillHoo, Feb 6 2012, 11:13 AM.
