Hey Folks,

I used to own a 95 Metro w/ 1.3 and manual trans, but the front A frame members rotted out. I am currently looking to purchase a 1.0 3cyl. In doing some research I found this forum and thought I would join. Looks like you have some great info here!

Thank you sir. I am looking at a local 99. It has the 1.3 which I would prefer the smaller one, but he is asking $700 for it. The A-arms are not rusted, but the passenger one is bent. He is including a replacement A-frame with the sale, but I'm a bit nervous about it. He also has a lien on the title, and I told him I'm definitely not doing a deal until he can produce a lien release letter.

Oh, I agree for sure. I called the dude back, and talked a bit further. Apparently he just bought the thing a week ago from a guy down the road from him. I told him if he could provide a lein release we would do a deal. Haven't heard back.

In other news I've been doing some searching online and found a 95 Metro w/ 200K miles 1.0 manual that needs new brake lines, but runs good. the guy is asking $600. I'm thinking of pursuing this one.

I WANT me a GEO now!!!!

Yeah I bought my first one on ebay back in 2005 just before hurricane Katrina hit. Back then I was getting upset about gas prices that were $2.25/gallon. Then Katrina hit and gas started going way up. I felt smart :) I bought my 1995 Geo 4/5 with 80K miles on it off ebay for just a hair over $200. It needed a radiator and brakes, but was good to go otherwise....or so I thought until the A-arms flexed out just enough to pull the half-shafts out of the tranny. First time I filled up the tank I think it cost me about $18. This time I want a 3/5. I have the cash in hand and can't wait to make a deal on the right one. I doubt I will fill the tank for $18 though.
