Hard to start after warmed up; Starting Fuel

My car starts without a hitch when it is cold but after I run it and try to restart it does not want to start. If I put the gas peddle to the floor after restarting it still want start. If I turn the fuel pump on but don't start then turn off and repeat 3 times it is more likely to start. Don't know if the engine is flooded or the pump is weak. If the pump is weak why does it start easily when cold? Anyone experience this type of problem? 2000 Chevy Metro LSI 1.3 L automatic.

Thanks

Faulty fuel injector. Heat causes it to leak. I've seen this on other vehicles, but not the Geo. Take the air cleaner off and have someone cycle the key to run the fuel pump and verify any leakage into the throttle body.

I've got the same issue, and I'm working through the solutions the Haynes manual says.

check the Air filter first, but the second on the list does have to do with the fuel injection system.

I've pulled the fuel injectors, cleaned, tested the open and close electrical switch, measure the ohms (all the same). There is also a fuel pressure regulator on the fuel bar too. I wonder if it could be the problem.

iBLKBRY, I have a fuel injected system. Don't need to pulled the air cleaner to check for leaks.

Hey Crxcte, I'm having the same issue. It didn't do this until I put a brand new fuel injector in it. The old one was faulty. Dunno if it's related, could be something else.

He hasn't been on since 2013, don't think you are going to get a response.
