I have a 97 Metro LSI 1.3L and I was replacing the crank seal. Instead of using a screwdriver to prevent the flywheel from moving as I tightened the crank gear, I used an allen key on each corner of the flywheel. It came off fine but when I went to tighten it back on one of the allen keys fell into the flywheel. I'm wondering how dangerous this is and if there's anything I can do to get the key out. |

I would fish it out with a magnet if possible. It will fly around in there and possible damage something. |

The allen key just barely fit through the teeth and there isn't enough space to fish it out through the flywheel. Is there anything else I can do to get it out? |

Maybe drill a large enough hole somewhere in the bellhousing on the bottom to go fishing? |

May be misunderstanding the "where" part, but would pulling the starter and fishing a magnet with a bent coat hanger down do the trick? |

Mr Bill, I dont think he ever had it off. He was just jamming the flywheel to tighten the crank gear. |

Removing the starter and going fishing is a good idea. If that dont work drill a hole in the bottom of the housing the correct size for a 3/4 inch pipe tap. once everything is clear tap the hole and insert a pipe plug. |

I never took the flywheel off to begin with. I'd prefer not to drop the transmission down, so I'll try the fishing method. Thanks. |

Well, the only way to get the flywheel off anyway is to drop the transmission..... or pull the motor. |

I'd say this is the best plan. At least worth a shot. Any way you can.....get it out of there!
