Well, on the water pump housing the slot where the alt bracket bolts on, the damn thing has broken off inside the thread. I don't own a right angle drill, and I can't get a conventional one in that space. I need some way to get that damn thing backed out. EaseOut/plyers/hammer? What do you guys think?

Remove the water pump and put a new gasket on after drilling out the bolt.

couple things I would try first.
1--some kind of penetrating oil several times and tapping
the outside of the housing to break the rust/corrosion
loose.
2--Try to get a center punch in at the middle of the bolt
and punch it hard to see if yiou can break the rust
loose.
3--center punch (lichtly) at an angle near the outside of the broken
bolt and see if it will turn
4--dremel type grinder with a small wheel (1/16" X 1") , grind a
slot in the end of the bolt and try a hammer type screwdriver.
5--remove, drill out, replace

I would replace the pump. That one looks like it is ready. It might be a good time to mess with the timming belt also.

All else fails, fab you a new bracket that will reach over to the next bolt. Or get a small long long drill bit and drill thru from inside the wheel well and put a ease out in it.

The bracket I have would probably reach. This was my first idea/mistake. Tried backing out that next bolt to make it fit and snapped it off on the otherside of the pump housing, like in the block. Look close and you can see I put it back in with sealant so it wouldn't leak. I'll have to drill that whole thread out if I ever have to change the water pump. It's not leaking anymore, but it's on there! I think I'll try lowering the engine onto a jack and removing the wheel and trying to drill. Any other advice/help is still appreciated.

The alt bolt was already broken. My belt was squeeling and I went to tension it. I backed that bolt out with my hand, it was just hanging there. Then, I personally snapped the one in my pump housing off trying to get it out so I could move the bracket over. All this is starting to scare me for when I go to take all this apart and rebuild...

I would just replace the water pump.

The broken bolt is in the water pump. With your millage, replacement is recommended. Have you driven it this way? If your belt is still tight, remove the bracket. As long as you don't stress the motor, you should be OK for right now. NO INTERSTATE. Around town ONLY. You should not be stressing that motor anyhow. ^o)

FYI
LukeJ88 needs to replace his head gasket along with a few other things. He needs to replace it WAY sooner than later, however we have to find him a replacement head before we begin. With his Metro being his only car, down time can only be about one day. Not a problem, but he just needs to have everything ready to go. Freaky_1 and I are working with him to coordinate our schedules to help him out. I guess I need to free up some time quickly. :(
