A coolant temperature sensor that is reading too cold will cause the ECM to command too much fuel, a possible cause for your no start. |

Thanks Woodie for the reply, but I have checked everything else except head pressure in each cylinder, from my searches on the forum (and personal experience) a decline in head pressure will not make your engine die while driving it. I'll try any advice I can get. |

Ok, from what I have seen, you have checked everything but the ignition. If you have fuel, if timeing is "sort of close" {hell, sometimes if it is way off} You should have fire somewhere! Unless something was wrong with your ignition, you should have fire inside the engine, in the exhaust, or in the intake. To test the ignition, simpley take out a spark plug, ground the spark plug with a reliable ground, then turn the engine over while watching the spark plug for spark. I use a really long spare sparkplug wire, and a long wire with aligator clips to ground the spark plug to the battery terminal. This way while Im cranking the engine over in the cabin, I can watch the spark plug. If you have ignition, "and the plugs are at correct gap", I strongely urge you to try unplugging the injector, and trying to use your own fuel. Just dribble 4 table spoons of gas into the intake, keep the accelorator wide open, and crank for 30 secounds. If your ignition is correct, you will have fire somewhere. In the intake, timeing is advanced or off overall. Fire in the engine, timeing is close or spot on. Fire in the exhaust, timeing is retarded or off overall. |

Ok folks... *GULP* (that was my pride) I was not reading the timing correctly. At a closer inspection of the crank pulley, I noticed that there where 2 white marks. So, when I was using the timing light, it only appeared to be correct. I took the timing cover back off and the timing was off by a few notches. I adjusted them to the correct positions and zoned in with the timing light. Lesson learned. I want to sincerely thank everyone for all the suggestions and help that was given. Thank you all for your support. I have to give props and many thanks to Tracer from justanswer.com. He is very knowledgable and was able to help solve my problem even though I kept telling him the timing was correct...

No worries you already swallowed your pride, admitted your mistake and thanked everyone for all their help. I think there is no other option but to "kick yourself in the nuts" Just kidding The main thing is your back on the road, with the help of some pretty good folks. As for the timing issues dont sweat it, happens to the best of them thats how they know. |
