Hi guys,

I have a 93 1.0, and was wondering which brand of spark plug I should get and what is the gap for them?

Cheers,

Thats kind of like asking what kind of gas should I buy or what's the best oil... There are only about a million choices with advocates and detractors for each. Personally I favor the NGKs that were installed at the factory (BPR6ES-11) the engine in my 92 seems to like them best. Gapped from .039-.043

In my opinion there is no need to buy the super special plugs for this application.

My experience with Bosch plugs was not satisfactory, though there are other forum members who like them.

Thanks for the feedback. I put in Bosch Platinum's in my GMC truck and had to yank them out, they were not good for it.

I haven't had good luck with bosch in anything other than germans that come with them. Half the time germans have ngk from the factory anyways...

interesting topic, sadly not as many responses I hoped to see.

I bought autolite copper tip. The parts supplier said thats what the computer calls for, so I went with them. Oddly however, my 93 1.0 likes it when I gap them at .050 o.O?
Yes, I put them in at .039, lost a huge amount of power, regapped them at .050 like the old ones and its back to hauling ass.

And I am one of the members who loves the Bosch Platinum +4s. :D Our engines like them.

When my distributor cap got too worn out, at first I thought it might be the +4s so I put the V-Power NGKs back in and did not have as much power/throttle response. It did not have as much power even with the new distributor cap so the +4s went back in. I listened to a couple of Bosch horror stories and each time I took the +4s out they looked perfect so I put them back in. I still get 56 mpg in the summer :D

For a list of plugs for your '93 1.0 take a look at http://www.sparkplugs.com/1993 1.0.

The hood sticker on my '91 and '96 says 0.039 gap.

I too run the Bosch platinum plus 4s ... Good luck here with them.. It's your choice... I would run the Bosch if I had the choice... Then you don't have to gap them:)
