If you were a millionaire...; would you still drive your Geo Metro?

If you became a millionaire and were FLUSH with cash - would you still own and drive your Geo Metro?

------------------

For me I'd probably say yes. Sure, I'd probably get a Tesla Model S with extended range package or whatever for "occasions".

But for a daily driver, a Metro is tough to beat for the thrifty rich. :lol

Who said it had to be stock :P
Modding the hell out of it would be priority #1
Totally custom interior mod for absolute driving comfort - right down to custom pedals and stick.
A carbon-fiber reinforced frame and door upgrade to keep things light but increase safety, engine mods to max out fuel economy, etc. etc.
Total steering/suspension makeover for comfort and handling.
The funny thing is I'm sure all the mods could be done for cheaper than the cost of a new luxury sedan...
it would be a suave luxury Geo - the perfect sleeper for driving around anonymously. :whistle
If you want a little more showy car - any flashy, foreign sports car could provide the necessary horsepower B-)

A Metro Driver

...heck, if I won the lottery, I would open up a NFP garage and buy metros, get 'em road worthy and donate 'em to churches so that families in need would have reliable transportation.

..at least, that is what I tell myself I want to do...

:rocker

A Geo charity repair shop... I love it! :D

As a 501(c)(3) if it ever got big enough after some seed funding, it could even be self-sustaining......

Have a regular clientèle of Geo customers who come in for fair-priced labor and parts, and all profits go to fixing up/donating used Geos for charities....

:hmm

Je conduis une petite voiture.

Maybe I'd just put my Metro motor in another car.... Maybe a Ford Granada, my first car.

I too could drive what I want , not that I am rich , but I do what I want. When I was young I drove a Saab Sonnett. Great, fun car for a young guy. Two seat sport car with a V4. Yes, a V4.

We are all unique in our ultimate formula for what we would 'ultimately' drive. I am lucky, the Ge is it for me. I no longer crave speed or power . Really , a person can exist with no desire for these things, I know it sounds un-American.

Once you loose these desires you are free to think about economy, ease of working on, availability of parts and community. I'll bet your surprised to hear the last one being brought up on the subject of cars. Go to your hot rod Forum , go to your SpeedracerXXXX whatever the hell else there is and I challenge you to find a COMMUNITY of people as kind, generous, humorous, and helpfull as the Geo Metor people. I've only been here a short time but I'm very impressed.

First , with Johnny's web site and what he has built and then with the recent meet-up we had here in the NW. What a great bunch of people and what a fine spirit of commraderie. Try finding THAT with your BMW club or whatever.

I respect that others have interests other than mine, but that too seems to be built into the common love of the Metro.

Yep, its Metro for me. Great question, thanks for asking.

lol...I'm not saying I would get rid of my geo (if I would it would be to the less fortunate), but I think I would drive a car mainly for comfort. And the typical geo is not that.....more of a gokart

I'd just put the $XX,XXX into my Geo/Geos(fleet?). Why not? When the fossil fuel :shit hits the fan, you're not gonna want a luxury cruiser with 8 or more cylinders.
