If you were a millionaire...; would you still drive your Geo Metro?

There are more people than you would think who are millionaires that don't look or act the part, and they will tell you the way they became millionaires was through sacrifice and never feeling the pressure to "keep up with the Joneses." Modest homes, modest cars, and fat 401(k) accounts. Then there are people who are "rich" who are in debt up to their eyeballs, who drive the latest and greatest and live in million dollar homes they can't really afford.

And yes, I have no doubt there are millionaires who are part of this forum.

then i would put 100k into an easy access high yield savings account
Do you have an example of one of these?
Lol yea where the hell is that?

.003% isnt bad if you dont count the .00

We use ING Direct. Interest rate is at an all time low of .8%. It has slowly dropped from 3.5% when my wife first opened the account in '01. We make over $50 a month in interest, but we also have a lot of money in the account. We are using it for an emergency fund/house. It can be transferred in 3 days to a different bank or used immediately using a debit card. You can hardly beat it for a savings account.

If I was a millionaire, I'd sell my Metro to horn, buy a Volt & invest the rest for retirement.

Have you seen the new Zero S electric motorcycles? I'm thinking about getting one. 112 mile range and only $12k. Interesting....and they look cool.

oh just for the hell of it I would go up to canada and buy a diesel 6 speed smart four two.

I would put that engine and tranny (3cyl diesel) into my metro and probably get 80+mpg without trying very hard.
Dont lie. We all know you would put some batteries in it to and make it a hybrid. Just make sure you arent charging your car while u are taking a bath. Lol it might fall in and electricute you.

Now there's an idea... Posted Image Range is good enough for my 60 mile commute. Probably need a loudspeaker though to scare off the deer/moose. Just a touch expensive at this point though.

Other than that, I'm liking the whole chauffeur deal. But I would keep the Geo, add more, maybe buy a few cars I've always wanted to own but fix them up myself using a top of the line garage with all the neat tools I'd buy. I'd probably buy a different new car a year, keep the ones I like, trade the others etc. Park them on the front lawn of course.

...heck, if I won the lottery, I would open up a NFP garage and buy metros, get 'em road worthy and donate 'em to churches so that families in need would have reliable transportation.

..at least, that is what I tell myself I want to do...
Oh, yeah! Converting the world to GeoMetrosim!

I would still drive mine. Might actually get it painted, ya know? Little body and fender work? Those little old ladies need a good looking car to ride in on the way to church.

Funny, I actually thought about this... not that I even play the lottery. But I enjoy my Geo, I don't find it uncomfortable at all but I understand that I'm also smaller than the average person. I think I'd probably just poor money into my Geo to make it exactly the way I want it, just about new everything and still drive it. I've always wondered what it would be like to have T tops on it. lol

I'd be driving an early 3/4 that wouldn't look quite right.

Mostly, I'd be driving my baby "Darlin", the 69 F-100 Ranger package 428CJ a WHOLE lot more.
